A penalty early on given to Monaco in the early minutes of the game was given as Monaco’s Mbappe was brought to the ground by Sokratis of whom received a yellow card for the challenge.

Steps up Fabiniho to take the penalty that ends up going wide leaving the score 0-0, until Mbappe edges the ball into the net in the 18th minute!

Dortmund manages to score in the 34th minute with defender Sven Bender scoring an own goal, a goal was finally to come for Borussia Dortmund as Aubameyang finds Kagawa of whom then squares it to Dembele to finish.

Hope was there for Dortmund until Monaco’s youngster Mbappe dispatches a well placed finish in the 79th minute making it 3-1 to Monaco.

Borussia Dortmund manage to bring the tie closer after eventually scoring again in the 84th minute as Kagawa brings down the cross with a lovely touch and a lovely bit of dribbling to find the gap to slot it into the net.

The game ended 2-3 to Monaco of which will mean Monaco are favourites for the next match as they have three away goals, but we can’t write of Borussia Dortmund just yet.
